Pandora, that wonderful land that James Cameron created for his movie “Avatar”, was inspired by this land, Mount Tianzi in China.

With its more than 300 vertical columns over 300 meters high, this place surpasses fiction, becoming a unique place in the world.

Where is Mount Tianzi located

To the north of the Wulingyuan area, in the Chinese province of Hunan, is the Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve, within the territory of Zhangjiajie. The city of Zhangjiajie is one of the largest tourist destinations in China.

These impressive sandstone mountains were formed more than 300 million years ago. A place with lush vegetation, together with rock formations and constant mist, give it a beautiful and unique atmosphere.

Cable car route

Touring the mountains by cable car is an experience not to be missed. The route covers more than 2 kilometers with a fall of almost a thousand meters.

Zhangjiajie Attractions

There are countless attractions and places that you cannot miss. Without a doubt, one is the Tianzi Mountains but there are many more, such as the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, with the highest glass suspension bridge in the world.

Another place is Tianmen Mountain, or Baofeng Lake, passing through the Yellow Dragon Cave.

We recommend that you take the opportunity to taste the typical food. The gastronomy of China is very varied, and especially in the province of Hunan it mixes the salty flavors of the north of China with the sweets of the south. Highlights include beer duck, Changsha-style tofu, and Dong’an chicken.

Mount Tianzi is a dream place where you can enjoy nature in its purest form. The reality is much more impressive than the movie, without hesitation.
