The magic of the Northern Lights is a unique experience. Its colors and movements have inspired travelers, artists and scientists. What colors do you have? What exactly is the Northern Lights?
The aurora occurs when charged particles from the Sun collide with the Earth’s magnetic field. They are guided by the magnetic field of the Earth and are directed towards the poles. When they reach our atmosphere they collide with oxygen and nitrogen molecules, exciting the atoms and causing them to gain an electron. By breaking free of that electron, they return the energy in the form of light.
According to experts, the best time to see them is between the months of October and March, but the truth is that they are unpredictable. It all depends on the Sun.
They have very diverse shapes, structures and colors that also change rapidly over time. Waves or curls can form along the arch and even almost vertical structures. They last from a few minutes to several hours and that is where we appreciate their charm.
Magic is served to the liking of the viewer!
